On March 4th, 2006 we threw our first psytrance event as Fugu Trance. To commemorate the anniversary of that gathering, we’re celebrating our 1-year birthday party on Saturday, March 3rd.
This event will begin at 10pm and will continue until 7 in the morning. Be sure to bring lots of stuff to ensure your comfort throughout the night — e.g. drinks, snacks, water, blankets, etc. As usual, water, juices, tea, chai, snacks, etc. will be available on a donations-only basis. To maintain a safe and comfortable vibe, you are encouraged to pass the word on to friendly, good-energy people, but please do not post information about our events on any public forums or mailing lists.
Likewise, admittance is by RSVP only. The RSVP list will be checked at the door to ensure no one walks in off the street bringing negative energy to the party. Directions to the location will not be posted on the website and will only be emailed to those that have RSVP’d. RSVP online at www.fugutrance.com.
This event is 18+. $12 before midnight. $15 after midnight.
Music by:
Liquid Ross (Liquid Records; Kent, UK): Ross is the owner of Liquid Records, which has released stellar downtempo albums including the Slackbaba full length and Soul Vibration compilation. In addition, he is an accomplished dj who has played at many of the biggest psytrance festivals and parties in Europe, Mexico and Africa. Ross will begin the party with a downtempo set featuring unreleased gems by artists such as Bluetech, Slackbaba, Capsula, Manasseh, and Gaudi.
Mescalinium (PSI; Philadelphia): Pat, the force behind the New Jersey Pine Barrens parties and a resident dj at the Gaian Mind monthly in Philly will begin the night’s psytrance. He has spun at gatherings from LA to Black Rock City to New York and his collection ranges from progressive to the most intense nighttime psytrance out there. For this event, he will be playing some of the darker side of full on.
Force Majeure (Fugu Trance; Austin): Mark has been contributing to the Austin community first as a dj and organizer with Shiva Shakti events and more recently as a dj and promoter with Fugu Trance. His background with TOUCH Samadhi in Asheville has helped shaped the vision for these parties as well as a high standard of dj’ing. Expect hard hitting dark full power.
Pete (Fugu Trance; Austin): Another member of the Fugu Trance crew, Pete has been constantly seeking out darker sounds with a tasteful amount of melody and funky playfulness. These tracks will form the proper transition from the night to the early morning.
Bodhi-Lectro (Austin): Carneal has been a dj for many years, and a collector of psytrance after undergoing the Neuromotor experience at New Guild. He’ll be spinning full on psytrance with an emphasis on electro elements.
Dr. Krelm (Psytrance Camp; Leipzig, Germany): Dave played a key role in Texas psytrance with the Texaliens crew, first spinning full on and later progressive. He has continued to dj and promote parties in Leipzig, Germany and even spun some dark sounds as “Evil Dr. Krelm.” This time around, he will end the party with his signature groovy progressive.

Polyphonia is the solo project of Romolo Cheri. After some years of metal and hardcore music, he discovered psytrance in 1995 and was instantly addicted to the full energy outdoor parties around Greece and Goa. He brings to us his uncompromising twisted and psychedelic music.
MUBALI (Trishula Records, Mistress of Evil Records - California/Chicago) LIVE SET
Greg Farley has been involved in the psychedelic trance scene in Northern California for over 5 years. After several years of being a dj and event coordinator, he began to produce his own music in the summer of 2003. Assisted and influenced by San Francisco artists such as Quasar, Ocelot, the Nommos, Chromatone, and Penta. Mubali’s music began appearing on various labels like Mistress of Evil Records, Geomagnetic TV, Trishula Records, Insomnia Recs, and Manic Dragon Recs. In March of 2006, Trishula Records released Mubali’s debut full length titled “Cats at Play.” His music style can be called nighttime, aggressive, psychedelic music, and this year he has been doing a lot of collaborations with many artists such as Naked Tourist, Highko, Arahat, Bodhisattva 13:20, and Electrypnose. Be prepared for his sonic onslaught and holographic textures.

Master engineer, expert journey-maker, TDC Crew member Gabriel is mixing together a recipe of psychedelic mayhem to power up the night.

LAURYN (Peak Records, 28thDay - NYC)
Lauryn’s passion for music has been a constant all her life. She began playing the violin when she was 9 years old. Her love of music led her to begin djing and producing her own psytrance radio show while attending college. In 2002, Lauryn moved to Boston where she helped start Psyforia. Recently relocated to New York City, Lauryn is a label dj with Peak Rec (Switzerland) and is affiliated with 28thday(NYC) and Mistical Productions(Texas). In the past six years, Lauryn has played across the US, in Canada and Europe, sharing the stage with many well-known international acts. She is known for her energetic, nighttime, funky full-on, delic sets, as well as the occasional morning progressive grooves.

Brian H’s early years as a DJ were spent battling for acceptance in the breaks dominated dance floors of Florida. The difficulty brought upon him from being a hard trance DJ only pushed him harder to find better tracks, make smoother mixes and create more interesting sets. His extraordinary talents landed him many radio appearances and residencies including Foundation Radio, a very popular pirate underground station in Orlando, The Perimeter on KISS 105.3 in Gainesville, and The Vinyl Destination on 100.5 The Buzz in Gainesville. Brian H was also the co-founder of Audible Mayhem which threw many successful shows throughout North/Central Florida, but the slowly degrading Florida scene eventually caught up with them and the crew disbanded.
Brian H soon after moved back to his hometown of Washington, DC where the scene was stronger. It was here where he discovered a renewed interest in psytrance which forged the hard trance / psytrance fusion he now plays. In the short time Brian H has been in the capital he has rapidly gained respect from DJs of all genres and experience levels as well as co-founding Mayavada Productions and being picked up by the Konvocation crew.
By choosing the most forward thinking tunes and creatively piecing together his mixes, Brian H aims to push the scene forward from both a musician’s and a DJ’s perspective.
RYPTIDE (Peripheral Fission/Mayavada - DC)
For 6 years, RypTide has been working to perfect the creation of a unique blend of dark and pounding, yet funky and very danceable soundscapes to the delight of many a dancefloor in the Washington, DC Metro area. Relishing in “keeping music evil,” RypTide enjoys working dancefloors into a frenzy with fist-pumping, foot stomping screamers. In his first Philadelphia appearance, however, RypTide will show his softer side, blending the groovy, the uplifting and the funky - with maybe just a *touch* of evil ;] - to get you prepped for a full night of dancing.
